Mike Shoeman LifeACT Coach
Mike Shoeman serves as president and head coach for LifeACT International in addition to his duties as executive producer in charge of performing arts programming on New Century Television. Mike also enjoys a mentoring coach position at The Coaching Institute.
As an actor, Mike has 15 years experience both on stage and on camera. He's performed with the Act II Playhouse, City Theater Company, Montgomery Theater and as part of Theater Catalyst's Eureka Theater Project. He starred as Razz Bender in the award-winning short film "10 Cents a Minute", appeared on Court TV's "Forensic Files", as well as performing in several national commercials.
As Artistic Director and Founder of the Life Artist Production Company, Mike has co-produced 6 performances dedicated to original works. He's also produced full-length improvised dramas as well as sketch comedy presentations. Mike has taught children's and master acting classes through the Harrisburg Opera Company, Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, Totem Pole Playhouse, Upper Merion Township, Village Productions, Renaissance Academy, and Cumberland Valley School of Music. He is an acting coach who employs the Meisner Technique and original forms of Creative Improvisation. As a writer and actor, Mike will self-produce a one-man show in late 2007 dealing with the topic of an actor's "mind games" and transcending artistic boundaries. Mike is an internationally certified life coach having received his training through the Coaching Institute. As a life coach he's worked with opera singers, martial arts champions, playwrights, music teachers, psychotherapists, comics, theater business owners and actors. Mike founded Life Artist Coaching Technologies (Life ACT) - a coaching practice dedicated to the development and production of ideas by actors, writers and directors which promote an appreciation for psychological depth, spiritual understanding, and the awakening of one's authentic self. He is trained in various forms of meditation, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and holds black belts in several martial arts.
Mike's personal inspiration as a coach comes from Bruce Lee, Julia Cameron, Sanford Meisner, Anthony Robbins, Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, and Jiddu Krishnamurti.
Mike co-founded the IMPROV program in partnership with the Mental Health Association of Franklin and Fulton Counties. IMPROV is a grant-funded drama program intended to facilitate safe, open communication between mental health professionals and consumers. Mike now offers the program through LifeACT.
He holds a degree in Business Administration from Hagerstown Business College and resides in East Norriton, Pennsylvania with his wife, Jenny.
